Doin' It Once again is the third studio album by English crud creative person Skepta. It features artists Due north-Dubz, Preeya Kalidas, Charlee Drew, Boy Better Know and Bit and was released on 31 January 2011 on Male child Better Know and All Effectually the World. The album's release was preceded by four singles which attained varied chart success on the Britain Top xl Singles chart throughout 2010.

Background [edit]

The anthology consists of 15 tracks, 7 which feature artists (with one artist existence uncredited) and "How-do-you-do, Practiced Morning" recorded by both Skepta and Diddy-Dirty Money. For the song "Big", Skepta collaborated with boyfriend English rapper Chipmunk. Skepta told The Lord's day: "Chipmunk and me were out in the West Finish clubbing together. I'd made 'Big' for my anthology with the producer S-X. I played it to Chipmunk on the fashion home that dark when we driving back from the club together and he loved it so much that he came to my studio the side by side mean solar day to put in his poesy downwards on it.". The album is presumably named after a song on Skepta's first album "Greatest Hits", which is called "Doin' It Again". Currently the album has released four singles; three which take charted in the Summit twoscore and one just in the Top 100 of the U.k. Singles Nautical chart.

Reviews for Doin' It Again accept been mixed. The Observer said "This third album is clearly a bid for international recognition, but the transition feels uncomfortable at times".[6] The Guardian was more positive saying that Skepta had "a distinctive, authentic voice and a sharp sense of humour".[7] Still, NME were far more than negative maxim "this is the sound of grime destroying itself"[1]

The track "All Over The Firm", which had been released in a previous version on a previous album, besides caused controversy when Skepta's video was released, which contained pornographic scenes of a pair of pornstars.

Singles [edit]

  • "Bad Male child" is the showtime single from the album; information technology was released on 15 March 2010 and entered at number 34 on Wednesday 17 March 2010. And then iv days after on 21 March 2010 climbed eight places from the mid-calendar week chart to number 26. In the same calendar week, it reached number 8 on the Great britain R&B Chart and a number 1 on the UK Indie Chart.
  • "Rescue Me" is the second single from the album it was released on 27 June 2010, it entered the Britain Singles Nautical chart at number xiv - which is Skepta'southward highest chart position currently. The next calendar week it slipped downwards to number 19. The song features Greg Timberlake who is uncredited.
  • "Cross My Centre" is the third unmarried from the album which features Preeya Kalidas. It was released on 17 Oct 2010 and reached number 31 on the Britain Singles Nautical chart.
  • "So Live" is the quaternary single which features Northward-Dubz, who are credited every bit "vs. N-Dubz" It was released for digital download on 9 December 2010. It is to release equally a single on vi February 2011.[eight]
  • "Amnesia" is the fifth unmarried from the album. It was released for digital download on 27 February 2011.
